Resonate 2026

A few current and past SLNA members

“To resonate is to relate harmoniously...”

Definition - when something "resonates" it creates a full, harmonious, meaningful sound or experience…

A fitting title for our new announcement - drum roll….

We have released tickets for our next in-person gathering!

Information below.

Since our last Lead-In gathering in 2024, quite a bit has shifted. With the times it seems…

We have made the decision to wind up our Incorporated Society status. Due to lack of available bodies to keep things ticking over, and a timely push from the INC people to update all our rules, it seemed the right moment.

This does not mean that SLNA is over by any means, it just means we now carry on in a less formal capacity.

We still have this website until the end of the year, and members still access and enjoy the benefits of the members only area of the website with all its fabulous resources, until then. We will keep you updated on the future of this resource.

So, back to our announcement - we have teamed up with choir association ‘Top of the South’ - a group of choir leaders from the Nelson/Tasman area, who hold exciting gatherings themselves, to help create a fun, memorable event. A number of them are, or have been members of SLNA, so they ‘resonate’ with our Kaupapa.

We will be gathering Kings birthday weekend at the Riverside Community near Motueka. Details below, and link to purchase a ticket.

This gathering is open to all current members, past members and anyone who is a song leader, community choir leader, social singing leader, music therapist… anyone interested in bringing the opportunity of singing for fun and well-being into their communities.

As SLNA has accrued some funds, we will be generously subsidising the first 35 tickets sold with a $100 discount, so get in quick!

Rest, Resonate and Rejuvenate with us.

You are invited to join us for a weekend of celebrating Song Leaders Network Aotearoa the organisation, and song leaders networking around Aotearoa. This weekend is also generously supported by the Top of the South Core Choirs Group.

We are a group of talented, diverse song leaders, all sharing the common value of bringing the joy of singing into our communities.

This long weekend together will be be an immersive experience of singing, song sharing, offerings of educational workshops and discussions on various topics relevant to leading singers - be it school choirs, community choirs or singing groups, special needs and music therapy practitioners.

It promises to be filled with culture, music, and fun as we come together to honour the time of year to rest, resonate and rejuvenate - the Matariki season, before turning towards the new energy of the warmer months to come.

New and potential songleaders are also invited - it's a great way to network, learn pedagogical tips and go home with a bunch of new songs!

Full weekend registration is a great way to take the time to relax, singing together for the fun of it, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones. A gift to have the time to connect with other songleaders in common.

‘Resonate 2026’ FRI, 29th May, 3pm to MON, 1st of June, midday.

Included in your ticket:

  • SLNA subsidy of $100 (to the first 35 tickets - after that each ticket price goes up by $100)

  • Three nights accommodation, Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. There are various accommodation options to choose from - live in, live out.

  • Catering: Delicious meals all through the weekend, cooked by the Riverside Catering team.

If you would like to offer a workshop during the weekend - to share relevant information on a pedagogical topic of your choice, or teach a significant song with a particular theme or focus, please indicate this in the ticket registration form, or get in touch with us directly.

Note: An extra koha will be offered to songleaders who present a workshop at the event.

We look forward to sharing an exciting weekend of connection and resonance with you!
