Later this month we will be sending out a survey to our membership to reconnect and find out some things about what you are experiencing as a song leaders and make enquiries about what you would like for events for next year.

Our survey will comprise of three different elements

1. Statistic gathering for funding applications to strengthen our ability to provide funding to support delivery of events.

2. General information to find out how you're doing

3. Enquiry about what rocks your boat for events for next year.

Women in Harmony, a three part acapella community choir based in Christchurch, is seeking a new choir director from February 2025.

We are a women's choir with around 20 members of all ages and walks of life who come together to share our love of music through singing.

A day of choirs across central Christchurch. Connect and interact with song leaders and their choirs at the three special locations, Great Hall, The Arts Centre, Christchurch Art Gallery and The Crossing.

Founded in 1967 and still thriving today. Chor Farmer is a all men's choir having a profound impact on Featherston.

Local Vocals is a community choir found in rural Southland and they have carved out a special niche in community singing that is clearly working for them.

Acapella Jude Singing Workshops started up again last week - it was a small and intimate affair, but we had lots of fun, challenged ourselves and produced some beautiful harmonies together!

This concert was about making sure that we felt as an audience connected, happy and lifted up in our spirit.

Kāpiti Community Choir Leader Shona McNeil reflects on the World Choir Games journey.

This is an opportunity to further develop the story, script and music alongside local artists such as a musical director, choreographer, script advisor and several musicians. We are fundraising towards the costs that help pay for the venue hire and to pay all artists living wage for their work.

I’m forwarding this to the Song Leaders' Network in the hope that with your support (small or large) we can partially fund the workshop without it being fully self-funded. After this workshop, we intend to have a full-scale production mapped out with the intention to apply to Wellington City Council and Creative New Zealand for larger funding. Our plan is to have a full-scale production possible within the next two years and premiere the show in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

Being able to read music does not define whether you can sing or not. Reading music is a tool, a very useful tool but NOT the only tool to learn a song.
